Danielle Collins has already gained a head start on her run for the title in Paris. The WTA star is making the most of her last few days on the tour and for that, is travelling miles to be part of different tours. It can be hard for any athlete to cover huge distances all alone but for ‘the Danimal’, the situation is quite relieving as she has three of the most reliable travel partners to accompany her.
After remarkable performances in Miami and Charleston, where she claimed back-to-back titles, Collins took a flight to Madrid, followed by Rome, and finally to Paris. While one might generally wonder how she manages to keep her enthusiasm levels intact, the American recently came forward to name the three most reliable comrades who side by her whenever she packs her bags.
After her opening-round victory over compatriot Caroline Dolehide, Danielle Collins sat down to answer the queries of fans in a press conference. On being asked about how she manages to cope with the travel stress, the veteran mentioned, “I think I’m able to balance it because I don’t do every single week on my own and I’ve been lucky that I’ve had a lot of coaches over the years that have been able to support me at different times.”

Besides giving a generic statement to explain how she’s backed by her team of coaches, the WTA star also gave out names of the people who fly by her side. “I’ve my good friend Ben Maxwell! He’s a college coach where I’m from in St Pete Florida so he accompanies me sometimes on the road a few weeks out of the year he obviously has a College schedule so there’s certain periods of time he can’t do it because he’s got his full-time career,” Collins revealed.
Besides Ben, the tennis star also revealed other names who replace him while he finds himself engaged. “Ryan Harrison has traveled with me a bit um you know Jared Jacobs as well has helped me out a lot,” she added.
The bond between Danielle Collins and her coach Ben Maxwell is well known. There have been several moments when the college coach was seen backing the 30-year-old during her practice sessions. Ryan Harrison, who has been a former tennis star himself, has a close association with Collins as he helped the tennis star for her preparations at the US Open 2023.

Jared Jacobs, as the world knows, is the coach who has been siding the WTA star throughout the season, assisting her in securing victories in both Miami and Charleston. Besides all, Collins’ close connection with Maxwell extends way beyond the tennis courts.
Danielle Collins and her coach’s shared love of furry friends
It hasn’t been long since Ben Maxwell had to say goodbye to his pet dog. The renowned coach took to Instagram to share an update along with expressing his sadness with the help of a caption that followed the adorable set of pictures.

“Rest easy, little nugget. I’m so grateful you have been a part of your life for 10 of your 16 years. I love you,” Ben wrote. However, it wasn’t just the coach who was close to his pet dog but Danielle Collins also seemed to love the little paws as well. Collins is known to have a thing for dogs as she herself owns not one but four! The most famous of them is Quincy.
‘Mr. Q’ is known to be a crucial partner of the WTA star. While she was dominating on the courts of Miami, it was her pet who sided with her whenever she went back to her accommodation. As she and her coach share a similar love for pet dogs, it is no doubt another binding factor in their adorable chemistry.
