On November 16 it will be presented at the LA LA Motor Show new Porsche 911 Dakar. It is a special version of the sports car characterized by a raised trim, designed to be able to tackle dirt roads without any problem. Model that also wants to pay homage to the victory of the German brand in the 1984 Paris-Dakar. This special version of the 911 had been talked about for some time and had also been the protagonist of some spy photos. The presentation is therefore missing a week. Meanwhile, Porsche still wanted to share some information on the development path that the 911 Dakar has faced over time.
OVER 10 THOUSAND KM OF OFF-ROAD TESTS
To know the technical specifications of this car we will have to wait a few more days. Porsche, however, wanted to tell that this model it had to face over 500,000 km of tests in extreme conditions, of which 10 thousand in off-road vehicles. The Château de Lastours test track in southern France, for example, was used to test the car’s handling on typical rally courses and to fine-tune the suspension. This model was also put to the test by two-time rally world champion Walter Röhrl on the frozen lakes of Sweden. The new 911 Dakar also had to face the desert and dunes of Morocco and Dubai, with outside temperatures reaching 45 degrees.
