Kilimanjaro Safaris

If Kilimanjaro Safaris is your favorite Disney’s Animal Kingdom attraction, then you’ll love these two new Kilimanjaro Safaris magnets. We found them in Riverside Depot at Animal Kingdom.
The magnets are with D-Tech items including other magnets and cell phone cases.
Kilimanjaro Safaris Magnets – $14.99 each
One magnet depicts a Kilimanjaro Safaris truck and reads “My other ride is on a Safari,” with “Disney’s Animal Kingdom” across the bottom.
The second magnet resembles the actual billboard sign outside Kilimanjaro Safaris. It features an image of a truck driving through the savanna past lions, elephants, giraffes, and more, and reads “Journey through Africa’s amazing wildlife.” The ride’s name is across the top, while the bottom reads “Office & Departures” and “Offices: Nairobi Mombasa, Arusha.” There are telephone and fax numbers, too, completing the advertisement.
Compare it to the real sign pictured below.
Kilimanjaro Safaris
Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is open until sunset each day and takes guests on an authentic safari through the park’s own Harambe Wildlife Reserve. It’s home to over 30 species living on 110 acres of open plains, forest landscapes, and wetlands. The ride previously had a story involving poachers, but this has slowly been removed, leaving it as a mainly educational journey through the reserve with expert Cast Members.
Because the ride involves real animals, every experience is different. Some of the animals guests may see are giraffes, lions, elephants, crocodiles, painted dogs, and zebras. Last year, Disney added Nigerian dwarf goats to the attraction. As part of Disney’s participation in the Species Survival Plan, they periodically breed threatened animal species and offspring can later be seen on Kilimanjaro Safaris — like Saffron the baby mandrill born earlier this year.
What do you think of these new Kilimanjaro Safaris magnets? Will you be picking either of them up on your next visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom? Let us know in the comments.
