SportsDay’s expert World Series picks: Will talented Astros cruise past underdog Phillies?

The Houston Astros are in familiar territory heading into their fourth World Series in the past six years.
On the other hand, the Philadelphia Phillies advanced to the Fall Classic for the first time since 2009. The Astros are looking to secure their second World Series title while shaking off the reputation that came with a sign-stealing scandal in 2017.
The Phillies found success in this year’s postseason after finishing third in the NL East behind impactful hits from Bryce Harper. Both championship-contending franchises feature one former Rangers player, with Rafael Montero pitching for the Astros and Kyle Gibson forming part of the Phillies’ bullpen.
Game 1 will take place at 7 p.m. Friday at Minute Maid Park in Houston. Here is who our experts predict will win this year’s World Series:

Tim Cowlishaw: Phillies in 6
Evan Grant: Astros in 5
Joseph Hoyt: Astros in 5
Kevin Sherrington: Astros in 6

Story of the World Series
Cowlishaw: Bryce Harper, 2 good starters and a crazy Philly crowd for the middle games will stun the Astros.
Grant: The Phillies may be red hot, but the idle time cools them off; Houston is just a superior team.
Hoyt: Dusty Baker holds the honor as the manager with the most wins and no World Series titles. That changes this year.
Sherrington: Astros won’t miss out on this shot at redemption/revenge. Too much talent for Philly.
