CONNECTICUT — Tim Jensen, the founding editor of Enfield Patch in 2010, was re-elected Friday to an unprecedented sixth term as president of the Connecticut Sports Media Alliance. The CSMA also re-elected CIAC director of media relations John Holt as vice president, longtime Norwalk Hour sportswriter George Albano as treasurer and retired sportswriter Peter Vander Veer as secretary.
A veteran of more than three decades in the media industry, Jensen, 57, is currently news editor of seven Patch sites in north-central Connecticut, in addition to handling Connecticut sports coverage. The 1983 graduate of Enrico Fermi High School in Enfield recently presided over the 80th Gold Key Dinner, one of the oldest and most prestigious sports honors in the state; among the 2022 Gold Key honorees were World Series champion Rob Dibble and PGA of America president Suzy Whaley.
“I thank my colleagues at the CSMA for having the faith in me to continue leading us out of the doldrums we went through for a while, with declining membership and the pandemic,” he said. “We have some key new members on our committee, having opened up membership to all previous Gold Key recipients and pro and college sports information directors. I’m excited to continue this rebound for such a terrific oerganization.”
