What a beach!
Tripadvisor, one of the biggest online travel agencies, recently revealed its 2024 Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Awards — including the list of the world’s best beaches.
The list ranks destinations that received a high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community over the past year — out of 8 million listings, fewer than 1% achieved the milestone.
Here are the top five, as well as the full list below.
1. Praia de Falésia in Portugal

Hidden under the cliffs at the bottom of Portugal in Olhos de Agua sits the world’s best beach, according to Tripadvisor.
Praia de Falésia Beach has been given 4½ stars out of 5 from 5,901 reviews raving about the coffee shops, wellness options and sports activities.
“Praia da Falésia is known for its dramatic cliffs, golden sands and sparkling blue waters,” Tripadvisor said. “Sunbathe on the huge shore, go swimming or body surfing in the waves, or stroll along the scenic footpath on top of the cliffs and check out the incredible views.
“The beach has been awarded Blue Flag recognition for its cleanliness, plus there are restrooms, a snack bar, and it’s easy to get to via public transportation.”
2. Spiaggia dei Conigli in Italy

The island of Lampedusa, Italy, floats in between Sicily and Tunisia surrounded by beautiful beaches including Spiaggia dei Conigli.
The beach was been rated a full 5 out of 5 stars from its 6,508 reviews — and it even allows pets.
“Unbelievably blue waters and white sand set the scene at Spiaggia dei Conigli,” Tripadvisor described.
“It’s a peaceful beach, perfect for relaxing, soaking up the sun and swimming. There’s lots of marine life to check out, and you might even spot some wildlife on the shore. Parking’s free and it’s easy to get to via public transportation.”
3. La Concha Beach in Spain

La Concha Beach in northern Spain’s Basque Country — Donostia-San Sebastian, specifically — has been named for its crescent shape; la concha translates to the shell, which allows visitors to marvel at the beautiful panoramic views.
The destination has been given 4½ stars out of 5 from 9,233 reviews, which noted the beach as being a good spot to enjoy a cool day filled with entertainment.
“La Concha Beach is an iconic spot right in the city, with a huge sandy shore and clear, blue waters,” Tripadvisor explained.
“The atmosphere is lively, and it’s a great place for families. There’s lots to do, from surfing to swimming, and more. Be sure to bring your camera: the panoramic views are next-level.”
4. Ka’anapali Beach in Hawaii

It’s no secret the Hawaiian islands have beautiful beaches, but according to Tripadvisor, Ka’anapali Beach in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii, is one of the world’s best — and the top-ranked beach in the U.S.
Ka’anapali Beach received 4½ of 5 stars from 9,437 reviews with people noting that although it’s expensive, the cultural and wellness spot is well worth the money spent.
“With its gentle waves, soft sand and blue waters, you could easily spend all day relaxing at Ka’anapali Beach — but there’s so much to do,” Tripadvisor said.
“Go swimming or snorkeling, then check out the local handicraft market. The beach is easy to get to and also has public restrooms and nearby shops.
“Pro tip: Get there in the early morning to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and stay to catch the stunning sunset.”
5. Grace Bay Beach in Turks and Caicos

The Turks and Caicos have long been a favorite, sun-filled celebrity getaway, and this beach in Grace Bay appears to be one of the biggest selling points.
The beach in the British territory has been given 4½ stars out of 5 from 7,425 reviews raving about all the fun activities and delicious food and drink options.
“Grace Bay Beach is a scenic spot with powdery-white sand and bright blue waters,” Tripadvisor noted.
“Relax on the shore, swim in the calm sea, try some water sports — you can really do it all. Its barrier reef creates perfect conditions for diving and snorkeling (you might even spot some turtles!). At the end of the day, go for a walk along the beach and catch the breathtaking sunset.”
