Chad E. Ross Memorial Tournament
ST. MARIES — Four Wildcats secured individual gold as Kellogg took home the team title at the Chad E. Ross Invitational on Friday at St. Maries High.
Johnny Stovern (98 pounds), Colton Storey (106), Kolter Wood (132) and Jaeger Hall (145) all won their respective divisions, but they were joined on the podium by several other Wildcats, including Kevin Watson, Aiden Figueroa, Chase Scribner, Andrew Lewis, Landyn Rollins, Wyatt Storey, Maddison White, Izzy Davis, AJ Peak, Russell Fields, Sophia McLain, and Zoie Lawson.
Kellogg finished with 253.5 points, followed by St. Maries with 211.
Davis, White, McLain, and Lawson paced the Wildcat girls to a fourth-place team finish.

ROCKFORD, Wash. — Senior Emily Coe had 13 points, 10 rebounds and six steals for the Wildcats, who pulled away in the second half to beat the Viking JV in the Greg Larson Memorial Tournament at Freeman High.
“In the first half, we were a little discombobulated,” said Kellogg coach Jana Nearing, whose team was tied 24-24 before outscoring Coeur d’Alene 17-5 in the third quarter. “We had a strong third quarter and our seniors really stepped up and got us going.”
Senior Macy Jerome had 14 points, seven rebounds and eight assists and senior Dani Schillereff had 12 points, seven rebounds and three assists for Kellogg.
Freshman Sophie Holecek scored 15 points for the Coeur d’Alene JV.

“We did not shoot particularly well around the rim,” said Kellogg coach Mike Martin, whose team went 4 of 15 inside the 3-point line. “Once we got to the rim, we had some lack of confidence instead of putting pressure on the rim.”

ROCKFORD, Wash. — Junior Brodie Robinson scored 14 points for the Wildcats in a loss to the Knights of Moscow to conclude play in the Greg Larson Memorial Tournament at Freeman High.
“It was a good one,” Kellogg coach Mike Martin said. “Offensively, Brodie is doing what we’ve been asking of him. It’s really nice to see him play well. Everything he did was in the flow of the offense. Nice to see him break out a little bit today.”
Freshman Porter Lewis scored 11 points for Kellogg, which hosts St. Maries on Jan. 9.
