While the epic return of the college football video game remains a sensation among fans with more than 10K athletes jumping in before its release, the Texas Longhorns QB’s decision surprised everyone. A recent X post by Anwar Richardson made a shocking revelation that Arch Manning is reportedly opting out of EA Sports College Football 25.

For Manning, the real game action is apparently more important as he’s more “focused on playing football on the field.” The 2023 season marked his first season in Texas. The 5-star recruit chose the Longhorns over other dominant programs like Tennessee, Ole Miss, and LSU, among others. He played sparingly last season completing 2 of 5 passes for 40 yards. Next season, he’ll serve as the backup QB to Quinn Ewers before starting in 2025. Despite being a potential top 5 along with Shedeur Sanders to grace the cover of this highly-touted game, his decision to opt out comes as a real shocker.
