The Pinault family becomes majority shareholder of the most powerful talent agency in the world

Tom Cruise, Zendaya, Nathalie Portman, Brad Pitt, Scarlett Johansson and even Margot Robbie… All the biggest Hollywood stars are rushing to the doors of the Creative Artists Agency (CAA), the most powerful talent agency in the world. On September 7, Artémis, the holding company of the Pinault family which also controls Kering, got its hands on it. The amount of the transaction has not been revealed, but Le Point puts forward a total valuation of $7 billion.
Artémis buys back the 53% of securities held by the American investment company TPG, which entered the capital in 2010. In 2010, it had increased its stake to 35% before reaching 53% in 2014. The other company Temasek investment based in Singapore will remain a minority shareholder.

An empire in the cinema industry
The agency was founded in 1975 and is run by a trio of agents: Bryan Lourd, who represents Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Scarlett Johansson, among others. Richard Lovett represents him, Tom Hank and Will Smith. Finally, Kevin Huvane represents Sandra Bullock and Merryl Streep. As in the famous series Ten Percent, the agents started at the bottom before collecting the names of celebrities over time and intense work.
