Cancelation rates improved in Europe, but North America experienced an increase in cancelations.
Aviation analytics firm Cirium has revealed its monthly on-time performance (OTP) report from July, showcasing airlines’ results worldwide. It comes as the industry has experienced increased demand during the busy summer travel season, fast approaching pre-pandemic levels in some markets.
The firm also released cancelation data in Europe, indicating improvement across the region. On the contrary, North America did not see a better performance last month, as the cancelation rate was above 20%.
Global punctuality
Globally, LATAM Airlines was named the most punctual airline in July, according to Cirium. The South American airline had 85.30% of its flights arrive at their destination on time. Avianca, which had the title the month prior, came in just behind with a punctuality score of 84.67%. Its performance was higher than in Saudia, in third place, with 83.76% of its flights arriving on time.
