PCB Sends Letter To ACC To Seek Urgent Meeting After Jay Shah Says ‘India Will Not Travel To Pakistan For Asia Cup 2023’ – Reports

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sent an official letter to the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) to seek an emergency meeting after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah said that they will not send Team India to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023, as per a report in Geo News.
After the 91st Annual General Meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which was held on October 18, Jay Shah, who is the president of the Asian Cricket Council, spoke to the media and revealed that the next year’s Asia Cup will be held at a neutral venue as Team India can’t travel to Pakistan.

“The Asia Cup 2023 will be held at a neutral venue. I am saying this as ACC President. We [India] can’t go there [to Pakistan], they can’t come here. In the past also, Asia Cup has been played at a neutral venue,” Shah told the media.
Notably, India and Pakistan only face off in the multi-nation tournaments due to the strained relations between the two countries. Team India have not travelled to Pakistan since 2008. Also, the arch-rivals have not played any bilateral cricket since Pakistan toured India for a white-ball series in 2012-13.

In its letter to the ACC, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) condemned the unilateral announcement by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah that they had decided to hold the tournament at a neutral venue.
Earlier, it was reported that Shah’s statement has angered PCB officials and the sources close to the Pakistan Cricket Board chairman (PCB) Ramiz Raja stated that they are considering pulling out of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, which will be held in India.
According to reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board is considering terminating ties with the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in case no action is taken against the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
