Reflecting on the single most important thing that makes her most grateful towards her parents, Jennifer adds that it is instilling a sense of freedom with purpose. “I think they really focused on us carving our own path in the world and not feeling like we either had to follow in their footsteps or that that was even really an option for us.” Talking about her medicinal career, she adds that even though they are intricately involved in global health, her study of medicine is unique, as they are not particularly involved in the medical field.
Hence, despite the pressure that accompanied her, Jennifer decided to put her privilege and beautiful life to a better purpose, instead of just sitting back and enjoying.

The eldest daughter of Bill and Melinda French Gates, Jennifer Gates Nassar began horse-riding just at the age of six. And, this turned into her lifelong passion participating at WEF at the age of 15. Jennifer Gates has owned several horses, namely Pepperpot and Capital Colnardo. But her interest in medicine is also as dominant.
Jennifer took to attend Lakeside School in Seattle, followed by Stanford University for her undergraduate degree in human biology. After that, she took a break to focus on her equestrian passion before attending medical school. Taking inspiration from her parents’ discussions about healthcare issues, she started to pursue a medical degree at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York.
