One of Barron Trump’s former classmates at his exclusive Florida private school fondly remembers him as a charming if oddball presence who was guarded by armed Secret Service agents on campus and mostly kept to himself, eschewing school sports, dances and meals in the luxe lunchroom.
“He would start the most random conversations and could be very entertaining,” a friend of Barron’s told the Daily Mail about his time at the ritzy Oxbridge Academy.
“He was also very mysterious,” the classmate also said. “He never attended football games or dances. I don’t think he met up with anyone outside of school or went on dates.”
“If Barron had a girlfriend, it was top secret (and) we never knew about it,” the classmate continued.
The 6-foot-7-inch son of Donald and Melania Trump, who has been touted by some in MAGA world as his father’s most likely political heir, graduated from the ritzy Oxbridge Academy in May. He enrolled there in 2021 after his father lost the 2020 election, and he and his parents decamped to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach.
Students at the small, $41,500-per-year school, founded by William Koch, one of the billionaire Koch brothers, generally come from wealthy, Republican-leaning families, the Daily Mail reported. So, these students were excited to learn that the 45th president’s son would be one of their classmates.
But the some 120 students in Barron’s graduating class also grew accustomed to his unusual presence, in part necessitated by his ever-present armed security and by his fiercely protective mother’s edict that he not appear in the school yearbook or on anyone’s social media, the Daily Mail reported.
Barron also completed at least half his school work online, the classmate said. If he did come to school in person, he’d arrive at 8:30 a.m. in a Secret Service SUV that would pull up just as the lobby was emptying and lessons were starting, the Daily Mail reported.
Multiple Secret Service agents would rotate around Barron throughout the day, and he was always accompanied by one every where he went on campus — even when he went to the bathroom, the Daily Mail reported. “They would go with him and wait outside,” the friend said.
At one point, there was a 911-related incident at a nearby supermarket that sent the school into lockdown, the Daily Mail reported. An agent was said to have burst into class to move Barron to safety until the threat receded.
“A lot of parents had concerns that the school could become a target when they heard he was coming to Oxbridge,” the friend told the Daily Mail. “It was a really big deal when he arrived and everyone wanted to get to know him. But after a while it became normalized.”
Barron is remembered as highly intelligent, completing a combination of rigorous honors classes, the Daily Mail reported. To the extent that he could, Barron also tried to blend in, wearing the school uniform — typically navy pants and a red or white polo shirt and sweater. He was always happy to chat about his love for soccer and the mobile game “Clash of Clans,” classmates told the Daily Mail.
Barron also would join his classmates in the school lunchroom, where the buffet-style meals were likened to high-end restaurant fare, the Daily Mail reported.
But while Barron would sit with his friends, he never ate any of the food, the friend told the Daily Mail. “He never specifically said why, just that he would wait until he got home to eat,” the friend said. “It was a little unusual.”

“Barron is handsome, tall — taller even than his father — and very knowledgeable for someone his age,” a Trumpworld insider told the Daily Mail. “I see all the attributes of a future president if he has the appetite for it. And why not? He has the Trump genes.”
That same month, it was announced that Barron had been selected, alongside his adult half-siblings Donald Jr., Eric and Tiffany Trump, to serve as a delegate at the 2024 Republican National Convention. Shortly after, however, Melania’s office announced that he wouldn’t be a delegate after all.
“While Barron is honored to have been chosen as a delegate by the Florida Republican Party, he regretfully declines to participate due to prior commitments,” the former first lady said in a statement.
Barron was noticeably absent from the RNC in Milwaukee earlier this month, but he received a shout-out from his father during his speech, accepting the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. Trump’s declaration —“We love our Barron”— got a big laugh from the crowd.
The teenager also made an appearance at one of Trump’s campaign rallies in Doral, Florida, on July 9, where his father made it seem as though he was making his political debut. The presidential candidate asked his son to stand to the cheers of an enthusiastic crowd, as he praised his youngest son’s intelligence, demeanor and rising popularity, joking that he “might be more popular” than his older half-brothers. Barron rose to a standing ovation and pumped his fist in the air.
Trump also boasted that Barron had been accepted into every university to which he applied and was headed off to college in the fall. But the teen’s college plans remain a mystery, the Daily Beast reported.
