The Cowboys will be without at least one of their starting linemen on Sunday.
Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith, who is dealing with a back issue, has been downgraded from doubtful to out and will not travel with the team to Sunday’s matchup against the Miami Dolphins. He missed multiple practices and walk-throughs this week.

The Cowboys also elevated nose tackle Carl Davis and running back Malik Davis from the practice squad on Saturday. For Malik Davis, this is the third and final time he can be elevated during the regular season.

Defensive end Viliami Fehoko and tackle Matt Waletzko, who were previously listed as questionable, have each been downgraded to out.

Chuma Edoga has prepared all week to start for Smith. He appeared at left guard and left tackle in three starts earlier this season.

Smith has not participated in a weekday practice for several weeks, allowing Edoga to see ample first-team reps long before this week. From that sense, Edoga’s preparation has long been in the works.
“I think now that he’s been able to settle in at the tackle position, we’re better prepared for this,” coach Mike McCarthy said.
Tyron tweaked his back during last Sunday’s loss to the Buffalo Bills. He still played all 57 offensive snaps.

Right guard Zack Martin exited in the first quarter with a thigh injury and did not return. He’s worked in multiple walk-throughs this week, and the Cowboys are optimistic about his outlook.

They listed Martin as questionable on their Friday injury report. Safety Malik Hooker (ankle) shares the designation; he missed the Bills game.
