Serena Williams‘ husband, Alexis Ohanian, made a bold statement on the cash flow into the women’s sports industry. As the co-founder of Reddit, Alexis Ohanian has had his fair share of success in the tech world. But in recent years, he has become just as well known for his involvement in the women’s sports world.

Alexis Ohanian speaks about the benefits of investing in female athletes
In an interview, Ohanian spoke about the progress that has been made in the women’s sports world in recent years, and how the industry is now starting to see the financial benefits of investing in female athletes.
“People wanna watch great stories, they wanna watch great talent. As soon as you put women on the same playing field as men and pay them what they’re worth. It turns out the dollars follow, the viewers follow.”, Alexis Ohanian said.
Alexis Ohanian is definitely a believer in making safe investments and also building women’s sports. And why shouldn’t he be? The women’s soccer team has time and time again proved their worth. Winning the World Cup on a repeat is just an example of what they are capable of.

Along with Ohanian, Serena Williams is also an investor in Angel City FC. Ohanian‘s comments come at a time when the women’s sports industry is seeing a surge in investment. In the past year alone, a number of high-profile investors have put money into women’s sports clubs and leagues, including Angel City FC, and North Carolina Courage in the NWSL.
