Scoot Unveils Inaugural Date For Embraer E190-E2 Flights And New Destinations

Scoot has unveiled the first six routes for its Embraer E190-E2s, the first of which will be delivered next month. The first two routes will be to the cities of Krabi and Hat Yai in Thailand.
Expanding with new planes
Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, a major international carrier, is the launch customer of the E2 family of Embraer jets. The airline currently has nine of the smaller variant on order, the E190-E2. The order was placed last year with regional expansion in mind, and flights will be launched in May. In preparation for the new planes, the first simulator for the E2 was unveiled in Singapore at the recently expanded Embraer CAE Training Services (ECTS).

According to Scoot, the first two planes will be delivered from Embraer’s facilities in Brazil in April. The airline shared the first aircraft has been nicknamed Explorer 3.0 and, as mentioned above, will be used on flights to Krabi and Hat Yai in Thailand. The inaugural flight has been set for May 7 at 15:45. The addition of the new aircraft will allow Scoot to expand from seven weekly flights to ten on both routes.

The second aircraft will pave the way for four new destinations: Koh Samui (Thailand), Kuantan (Malaysia), Miri (Malaysia), and Sibu (Malaysia). Flights to Koh Samui will be launched on May 13 and slowly increase to twice daily throughout June. The second E2 will be used to increase Miri and Kuantan flights from three to four times weekly, starting on May 20 and June 3, respectively. Flights to Sibu will be launched with three weekly frequencies.
