Una Total Globetrotter. This is how they present the new one in Borgo Panigale Multistrada V4 Rally unveiled this afternoon in the third episode of the World Ducati Première 2023. Compared to the Note V4 promises improved comfort for rider and passenger and greater autonomy, thanks to the 30 liter aluminum tank.
The engine introduces the extended deactivation strategy, for the first time on a production bike, which turns off the rear row of the V4 Granturismo also on the move.
Finally, greater off-road aptitude with suspension from 200 mm of travelmore light on the ground and advanced Enduro Riding Mode with dedicated off-road Power Mode. The bike will be in dealerships starting from February 2023, prices starting from 27,490 euros in the two Ducati Red and Brushed Aluminum & Matt Black colors, the latter with an exposed brushed aluminum tank. Both versions have black spoked rims.
Lhe Multistrada V4 Rally is aimed at lovers of long journeys, it is a bike made to reach any destination without sacrificing the riding emotions of Ducati. Provides 170 horsepower and has maintenance intervals every 60,000 km and oil changes every 15,000 km. The Multistrada V4 Rally boasts semi-active suspensions from the increased excursion to 200 mm, an unprecedented one Power Mode dedicated to off-roadwider rider footpegs (with more pronounced profile and removable rubber insert) and a control strategy Skyhook DSS EVO improved. It is also equipped with functionality Autoleveling for a constant attitude as the load changes: rider, passenger and luggage. As standard there are lightened spoke rims and protections reinforced engine.
THEl redesigned the windscreen is 40 mm taller and 20 mm wide, the tail has been lengthened and the suitcase attachment set back to offer more space in the leg area al passenger, which has footrests with increased rubber insert. The saddle has height adjustable: 870 or 890 mm.
Thanks to the availability of saddles of different heights for the rider and passenger, and the lowered suspension kit, the V4 Rally can be further customized (the seat height can thus vary from 805 to 905 mm).
Lto function Minimum Preloadwhich arrived on the Multistrada V4 S this year, allows you to lower the motorcycle when stopping and when traveling at low speed, reducing the preload of the rear shock absorber to a minimum. Then the function debuts Easy Lift which reduces the effort for lifting the motorcycle from the side stand thanks to the compression of the fork and shock absorber.
The central stand is standard.
Lhe Multistrada V4 was the first motorcycle to be equipped with a front and rear radar system in support of Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Detection systems. The dashboard 6.5 inch color TFT offers cartographic navigation functions thanks to the Ducati application Connectwhich supports the use of the phone also to answer calls or listen to music, via intercom. The V4 Rally adopts theABS CorneringCornering Lights, Wheelie Control and Traction Control: systems based on the six-axis inertial platform. For the V4 Rally they were developed four Riding Modes (Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro), with an important evolution of the Enduro mode of the other Multistrada V4s.
By selecting the Riding Mode Enduro a dedicated Power Mode is activated, which limits the power to 114 horses. ABS on the rear wheel is deactivated and cornering functionality and rear lift detection are inhibited to suit off-road use.
Cylinders that shut off in motion
THEthe engine V4 Granturismo of the Rally introduces the new strategy of deactivating the rear bank, no longer only at idle with the bike stationary, but also in other operating conditions to the advantage of consumption. The system is active in all Riding Modes. The V4 of 1.158 of the Italian Civil Code provides the power of 170 horsepower at 10,750 rpm and the maximum torque of 12.3 kgm at 8,750 rpm. Then note the crankshaft counter-rotatingderived from the MotoGP experience, and the torque curves dedicated to each gear used to optimize delivery. The chassis, suspension and wheels (for tubeless tires) aside, confirm the aluminum monocoque frame, the double-sided swingarm cast in aluminum shell and measure them 19-17 inches rims already adopted by the Multistrada V4.
