For Johnson, Jungle Cruise 2 would limit him to the movie star formula he’s used to, whereas The Smashing Machine breaks The Rock out of his acting mold and is far more intriguing in the scope of his career. Assuming he does it well, his lead in The Smashing Machine would open the door for the actor to seek and take on other dramatic roles, providing his fans with exciting, uncharacteristically diversified performances.
