“Should Have Fired Him”: Deion Sanders Jr. Stands Up for Shilo & Shedeur by Calling Out Sports Illustrated’s Hypocrisy

Shilo Sanders hardly knew that referencing a 2016 football television series ‘Last Chance U’ would end up being a topic for the hot takes of the CFB world. Well, at least his attempt at helping out his father in his unorthodox recruiting style did the needful, leaving Shilo Sanders out as a subject of criticism. Media houses and analysts have thrown their jibes at the Sanders following Shilo’s “Defense transfers DM me,” story stunt on Instagram.
The Buffs’ safety is being thrashed across social media platforms. Sports Illustrated also made a now-deleted post on Instagram headlining, “Deion Sanders’ kids are recruiting transfers via DM while the Colorado coach avoids home visits.” The post didn’t sit too well with Well Off Media owner Deion Sanders Jr. CU’s ‘social media guy’ immediately took to Instagram to lambast SI. “Hating while y’all still have our picture pinned at the top of y’all page,” Sanders Jr. captioned his story.

SI’s Instagram page has the famous ‘SI Sportsperson of the Year 2023: Deion Sanders’ as their top pinned post, with Sanders kids, including Deion Sanders Jr. and Shilo Sanders, and other CU staffers making up for the background of the post. Because of this, Deion Sanders’ rage continued. Sanders Jr. posted another story claiming that “should’ve fired him too,” with a picture of the person who runs SI’s Instagram page.

While Deion Sanders Jr. combats Sports Illustrated’s hypocrisy, he’s also spearheading a successful social media campaign for the spring transfer portal, with full support from the Sanders household.
Deion Sanders Jr and Co’s combined efforts
Deion Sanders took to his X account with a fresh zeal this time. Sure, it was his attempt at promoting CU among the aspiring transfers for the spring transfer portal. It was the suave with which Sanders rolled out the message that won fans’ hearts. Deion Sanders wrote, flaunting his rap knowledge, “That portal open like the Red Sea! @unclerukereal1 said ‘Don’t stop, get it, get it’,”.
His kids followed suit in the comments, with Shedeur Sanders flaunting his hidden rap skills, giving a rhythmic response. “Portal opens soon, let’s get busy,” Shedeur tweeted. Deion Sanders Jr. asked his fans to help him out with the transfer portal social media campaign. “I need transfer portal memes/videos to post on his page. Help me out. From TV shows, movies, voiceovers, anything,” Sanders Jr. tweeted.
All this stole the show for the fans, however, one attempt from Shilo Sanders brought that negative underscore to Sanders kids helping him out. What do you think about Prime’s kids helping him out in his ‘unorthodox’ recruiting approach? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
