Botafogo-SP vs Sport match
The game started in a rush, with Botafogo vs. SP getting their first chance in the eighth inning. Osman slipped from the side in the area before accidentally straying behind goalkeeper Dennis. The ball fell to Edson Karius, who headed in and was saved at the top by Allison Cassiano.
Sport, on the other hand, had a chance to take the lead with 12 points thanks to their quick reactions. Lavandeira took a good pitch, cleared a defender and sent the ball to face goalkeeper Matheus Albino. And the lion was punished soon afterwards.
The home side took the lead in the 15th minute when Edson Karius took advantage of a Sabino error to enter the area and play low before Tacio scored.
Despite the odds, Sport dominated possession and nearly leveled with Felipinho with a finish from outside the area guarded by Mateus Albino. However, the Botafogo SP goalkeeper could not avoid a red-black goal in the 25th minute, when Jorginho took a risk after receiving a pass from Wagner Rab. The ball swerved back into the goal.
With the ‘1×1’ on the scoreboard, Sport continued to increase possession but did little to generate play. The biggest chance came from a finish outside the area guarded by Matheus Albino.
The second half started with lukewarm water and stayed that way for several minutes. The record-breaking first shot came in the 20th minute and the referee called out a penalty for goalkeeper Mateus Albino for allegedly hitting Jorginho without the ball. However, after a review by VAR, the penalty was rescinded.
Botafogo SP met in the 26th minute with Dennis saving a Tacio header from a corner kick. Sport, on the other hand, had a dangerous shot from Lavandeira but stopped there.
In the final straight, both teams escaped with air balls, but the result remained the same, with 1 point each.
