If you travel near Faribault, you will encounter traffic changes as the two-year project to resurface Interstate 35 continues.
I-35 traffic will be moved from southbound lanes into northbound lanes. I-35 southbound and northbound traffic will each travel in a single lane, adjacent to each other.
I-35 southbound on-ramps from Hwy 21 and Hwy 60 will be closed. Traffic will be detoured to use the on-ramp from Rice Co. Rd. 48.
I-35 southbound off-ramp to Hwy 60 will be closed. Traffic will exit at Hwy 21 southbound to Hwy 60.

You should be alert for possible traffic slowdowns and backups, especially Friday-Sunday and other peak times. Signs are in place ahead of the work zone to warn of traffic slow downs and the approaching work zone.
The work at the I-35 northbound off-ramps to Highways 21 and 60 is scheduled to be finished by July 23 and the ramps will reopen to traffic. The ramps have been closed since June 14.
This is part of the 2-year project that started in 2023. Work includes resurfacing 4.6 miles of I-35 in Rice County and improving ramps and bridges.
