LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU) – The iconic Green Bay Packers-themed bar Glory Days Sports Pub in downtown La Crosse may be demolished in the near future.
In April of 2022, a neighboring business was destroyed in a fire and the fire caused damage to the sports bar. Glory Days closed and hasn’t reopened since. The city has now put in a request to demolish the building due to the smoke and water damage.
“There was an official order to rehab or raise the building based on the state statutes from the state of Wisconsin. We had been working with the property owner to either rehab it or get it tore down,” says City of La Crosse chief building inspector, David Reinhart.
The La Crosse Board of Public Works will vote on the demolition of the sports bar on Monday.
