Business of the NFL Draft Tour in Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – The NFL Draft is heading to Green Bay next year and the Packers are just one of many organizations that want the state of Wisconsin to get ready for the event.
A two-day, statewide tour, including the Packers and Travel Wisconsin, among others, stopped at Chippewa Valley Technical College Tuesday.
The visit comes as local and regional tourism is expected to skyrocket with the influx of visitors next April.
“We are really getting all of this state to start thinking about what they can do as they welcome all those visitors that are going to be coming in, and here in the Eau Claire region, we know we’re going to have people come from Minnesota and people coming from elsewhere. What is that opportunity? Let’s make sure we capture that and do the best we can to have a lasting legacy,” said Aaron Popkey, the Director of Public Affairs for the Packers.
Over the course of the 3-day draft, Popkey expects to see a quarter of a million tourists travel to Green Bay.
