Tom Cruise could be the first actor to make an extraterrestrial journey: we return to talk about the direct film by Doug Liman aboard the International Space Station (ISS)
The first rumors about a film shot in space and starring Tom Cruise had started leaking two and a half years ago. At the time, the NASA had confirmed with a tweet a collaboration with Tom Cruise to make a film about the international space station that orbits about 400 km from the Earth.

The announcement came in May 2020, on the eve of the launch of the Space X Dragon from the base of Cape Canaveral in Florida. We have a big project under development with Tom that will take him to take a rocket to the Space Station ”. She then added: “Hopefully he will become the first civilian to take a spacewalk outside the International Space Station.”
According to Donna Langley, Cruise’s role will be that of a man who will find himself in the position of being the only person who could save the Earth. If all goes as planned, Doug Liman is also expected to take off with Tom Cruise into space.
The timing remains to be clarified: making a film aboard a space station it requires a very long and quite complex preparation. Cruise should be ferrying into space Elon Musk’s Space X capsule.
