WaterField Designs’ new Time Travel Case for Apple Watch provides an elegant way to take your smartwatch, its charging puck and up to three bands on the road.
Made of full-grain leather, the folding rectangular case comes in four colors, the company said Tuesday.

One of the coolest things about Apple Watch is its ability to morph with the simple switch of a band. Slide on a sport band, and you’re ready to capture your workout data at the gym or in the pool. Swap out that sweaty strap for a classy metal band, and you’re ready for a high-tone night on the town. Pack a stylish leather band and you’re ready for everything in between.
Your Apple Watch band options are endless. However, stowing your Apple Watch and multiple accessories can become a pain when traveling. That’s where the Time Travel Case comes in.
“The Time Travel Case is an elegant solution for organizing your Apple Watch, extra watch bands, and charger all in one handy spot,” said company owner Gary Waterfield in a press release Tuesday. “Slim, compact, and protective, it’s highly portable for travel and convenient to keep on your dresser or nightstand as well.”

The Time Travel Apple Watch Case opens like a book and is handcrafted from substantial, full-grain leather. An interior, pleated leather pocket stows the charger and the Apple watch face. A separate but included Ultrasuede pouch cradles the face, further safeguarding it from bumps and scratches. A durable leather flap folds over the pocket adding yet another layer of protection and closes on the other side with four, hidden, rare-earth magnets. The underside of the flap, opposite the pocket, serves as a place to organize, store, and showcase up to three watchbands. Elastic straps on either end hold each watchband in place and are concealed by beautiful leather flaps, keeping the visual focus on the bands themselves.
The Time Travel Case measures 6.25 inches by 5 inches and weight 4.6 ounces. It comes in four colors often used in WaterField Designs’ well-made bags and tech cases: grizzly (light brown), blue, black and chocolate (dark brown). Like all of the company’s premium products, the cases are crafted in San Francisco.

The Time Travel Case looks like a great solution for anybody who travels with an Apple Watch and wants to keep the timepiece and a good selection of spare bands organized. And it looks especially promising for anyone who travels with two Apple Watches.
I typically travel with a pair of them. That way, I can wear one during the day and strap on a spare at night for sleep tracking. Or, for instance, maybe you want to take your Apple Watch Ultra (and one of its rugged bands) on a diving trip, but prefer a more-subdued Apple Watch Series 8 for those nights out on the town. (Yes, the Ultrasuede pouch that comes with the Time Travel Case can handle a beefy Apple Watch Ultra.)
Utilizing a single, slim case for everything seems far better than half-assing it and putting your spare watch in one of your bag’s pockets, coiling up the charging cable in the bag’s main compartment and tossing multiple bands in your suitcase where they can get lost among the clothes and other odds and ends.
Keeping your Apple Watch(es) and accessories safe and handy with one of WaterField’s cases doesn’t come cheap, however. The Time Travel Case lists for $119.
