The all-new Mickey’s Color Spin Dance Party will debut on Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Dream this week during the ship’s voyage to the Norwegian Fjords and Iceland.
Mickey’s Color Spin Dance Party
The interactive, retro, color-themed dance party will take place on the ship’s upper decks during “select sailings.” Mickey appears in an all-new outfit, alongside Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Max, Pluto, and Chip ‘n’ Dale. Disney describes the show as having a “90s throwback feel.” Dancers wear colorful tracksuits.
There will be a sing-along preshow of “Into the Unknown” from “Frozen II.” During the dance party, each character is assigned a color on the color wheel. If the spinning wheel lands on their color, it’s time for them to dance.
Guests will do the wave and hand jive to “unique renditions of iconic Disney songs with an upbeat techno twist.” Disney Cruise Line encourages guests to attend the Color Spin Dance Party dressed like their favorite character or in colorful outfits.
Disney Dream
Disney Cruise Line’s fourth ship entered service in 2011 and was the biggest ship in the fleet at the time. It has a passenger capacity of 4,000 with 1,250 staterooms. It’s currently home to Marvel Day at Sea, featuring special offerings and appearances by rare Marvel characters.
Disney Dream’s sister ship, Disney Fantasy, entered service in 2012. They have both been surpassed in size by the Disney Wish. Read more details about each Disney Cruise Line ship here.
Silver Anniversary at Sea
Disney Cruise Line is celebrating 25 years of sailing with the Silver Anniversary at Sea celebration on select sailings from May through September 2023. The first Disney Cruise Line ship, Disney Magic, began its maiden voyage on July 30, 1998.
Mickey and Minnie are wearing new shimmering teal and white costumes for the anniversary celebration. The rest of their friends also have new costumes. Guests will be invited to join the ship’s captain, cruise director, Captain Mickey, and Captain Minnie on one evening of each cruise for a special anniversary toast featuring the anniversary’s new theme song.
A new 25th-anniversary fireworks display is performed on some Silver Anniversary at Sea itineraries. The limited-time show features iconic Disney music and the new signature song. The show is on most Bahamian, Caribbean, and Mediterranean sailings this summer.
The anniversary of Disney Cruise Line also heralds the unveiling of a brand-new membership tier for Castaway Club, which recognizes returning Disney Cruise Line guests with exclusive rewards and perks. Honoring 25 years of Disney magic at sea, members will now earn the distinction of Pearl status after 25 Disney Cruise Line vacations. As the line’s biggest fans, Pearl members will unlock new at-home and onboard benefits. Check out the new Castaway Club lanyards and stateroom gifts.
Castaway Club members who sail during the Silver Anniversary at Sea receive a limited edition 11×14 framed Captain Mickey art print by Joe Kaminski in their stateroom.
The Shimmering Seas Collection of merchandise includes a Loungefly mini backpack, Spirit Jersey, and more. Check out some of the 25th anniversary merchandise and the Silver Anniversary pin.
There are also plenty of Silver Anniversary-inspired food and beverage items. Souvenirs include a popcorn bucket and a tumbler.
