Martha Stewart won’t be going under the knife anytime soon.
The 81-year-old domestic diva, who made history this week as the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue’s oldest-ever cover star, told the New York Times she has no interest in “altering her face” to look younger.
When Stewart described her commitment to continual reinvention — “When you’re through changing, you’re through,” she said — interviewer Ruth La Ferla mentioned Madonna, who’s famed for the same and “caught a lot of flak” for her apparent plastic surgery at the 2023 Grammys.
“I would never compare myself to someone like Madonna. She is a talent like no other,” the lifestyle guru responded.
“But as a performer she needs to keep reinventing herself. And it’s much more difficult for her to alter herself without altering her face. I don’t want to do that.”

Added the octogenarian icon, “There’s another very big difference between me and Madonna: She is wearing pointy bras and weird clothes. I’m teaching you how to roll dough.”
In 2022, Stewart responded to rampant speculation she’s had a facelift, telling the same outlet, “I have never had plastic surgery. You can absolutely say that. No knife on my face, neck or back.”
Instead of opting for nips and tucks, as she previously told Page Six Style, she credits her age-defying appearance to homemade green juices, a solid skincare routine featuring products from Clé de Peau and Mario Badescu — she’s been getting regular facials at the latter’s salon since 1967 — and simply “working” her “best angles” for photos.

“‘Project’ the jaw to look up towards the camera,” she told us. “Also, make sure you are optimizing lighting.”
One of Stewart’s New York dermatologists, Dr. Daniel Belkin, also told the Times in 2022 that she visits “probably twice a year” to get “non- or minimally invasive” procedures, including lasers, fillers and radio-frequency and micro-focused ultrasound.
And to prepare for modeling multiple swimsuits for the bikini bible’s 2023 edition, the “thirst trap” queen focused on her diet and exercise regimen.

“I didn’t starve myself, but I didn’t eat any bread or pasta for a couple of months,” she said on the “Today” show Monday.
“I went to Pilates every other day and that was great; I’m still going to Pilates every other day ’cause it’s so great. And I just, I live a clean life anyway — good diet and good exercise and healthy skincare and all of that stuff.”
Before the tropical shoot, she also told the Times she “went to the tanning booth and had a very light spray tan, something I’ve never done.”
