With the recent backlash Dwayne Johnson got for Black Adam, movie studios, especially the big ones, are cautious of hiring The Rock. But actors make movie commitments years before the release, and one of them that Johnson made was with Disney. While he has done many movies under the company’s umbrella, like Moana and Journey to the Witch Mountain, his biggest impact was with Jungle Cruise. That movie was a box office success and Disney didn’t back down from wanting a sequel. Also, with Johnson and Blunt at the height of their careers, who wouldn’t want to sign them? But since the development news about the sequel back in 2021, there has been no news about it. Could it be that the mouse canceled the movie after seeing the Black Adam debacle?

Is Jungle Cruise With Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt Still Happening?
Back in 2021, the Hollywood Reporter broke the news about Jungle Cruise potentially having a sequel. Johnson further confirmed this with his own Instagram post about the movie being green-lit for a sequel. But that was 2021 and we are in 2023 now. Nothing has been announced or hinted at about the Jungle Cruise sequel yet.

With Johnson’s Black Adam taking over the news like wildfire, people were focused on his passion project intensely. So, we didn’t hear anything from Disney or Johnson about the sequel’s production being started as well. But we should keep one thing in mind. But the pair, Johnson and Blunt, made it true and brought it to the fans. So, what will end up happening to the sequel now that Black Adam has died down? Also, what will happen to The Rock’s return to wrestling as hinted all throughout 2022, if the filming for this movie takes precedence?
Will The Rock make a comeback to WWE in 2023?
While the rumors about the match are strong, due to the filming of Jungle Cruise 2, Johnson might not be able to get time to perform. As his overjoyed Instagram post displayed, Johnson is too excited at the opportunity to work with Disney and Emily Blunt again. This might lead to the match between Roman Reigns and The Rock labeled as the dream match. But since Black Adam, Johnson’s movie commitments might be dwindling.
