Summary Etihad Airways has adjusted its schedule to include more frequent routes to popular destinations, providing travelers with more convenient options.
The airline is increasing the frequency of routes to larger cities such as Chennai, the Maldives, and Phuket, offering more choices and improved connectivity.
Etihad Airways has also added several new destinations, including Düsseldorf, Copenhagen, Lisbon, Osaka, Boston, Kozhikode, and Thiruvananthapuram, expanding its network for future growth.
One of the two national airlines of the United Arab Emirates, Etihad Airways, has announced a newly overhauled schedule ahead of the winter travel season. The upgraded schedule includes more frequent routes to popular destinations, new destinations altogether, and better-timed departures for some of its most flown routes. The new network is positioned to support visitor growth and provide travelers with more convenient options.
Expanding frequency of popular routes
Etihad Airways began its overhauled network by adjusting departure times for several European and Asian destinations. The airline will be adjusting the timing of its flights to Schiphol Amsterdam Airport (AMS) which occurs seven times a week. This is set to enhance passenger convenience.
The airline also announced it would increase the frequency of routes to several large cities to offer travelers more choices and improve connectivity options. The airline is adding seven more routes per week to Chennai International Airport (MAA), bringing the number of flights per week to 21.
The airline is also adding seven more flights per week to both Velana International Airport (MLE) in the Maldives and Phuket International Airport (HKT). Etihad is now flying to MLE 14 times per week beginning in 2024 and 14 times per week to HKT starting on November 21.

The airline is also adding three additional flights to several other European locations on November 21. Madrid-Brajas Airport (MAD), Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP), and Munich Airport (MUC) will each be brought to ten weekly flights. Etihad is also adding four more weekly flights to Frankfurt International Airport (FRA) and Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport (FCO) in Rome. Both of these locations will have 11 weekly flights.
Cairo International Airport (CAI) will have 21 flights per week beginning on January 1st of next year. This is an increase of 5 flights per week. Cochin International Airport (COK) will have an increase of eight flights per week also to bring it to 21 weekly flights. Islamabad International Airport (ISB) will receive two more weekly flights beginning on January 1. This will bring the destination to 14 weekly flights.
New destinations
In addition to increasing the frequency of popular routes, Etihad Airways also added several new destinations. Antonoaldo Neves, the Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, spoke about the expansion, saying,
