SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCSC) – Some Summerville residents will need to travel to Ridgeville for court as the Dorchester County Summerville Magistrate Court is set to undergo renovations.
Located at 212 Deming Way, officials say the court will receive upgrades and improvements starting Friday. Work is expected to last through June 30.
In order to continue service, temporary locations have been established.
Those who would normally go to the Summerville Magistrate Court will need to go to the Ridgeville Municipal Court at 105 School Street as a temporary venue, with officials adding that unless it is, “otherwise communicated, all Preliminary Hearings, Pre Trials, and Jury Trials will be conducted at the Ridgeville Municipal Court during the renovation period.”
Weekend and holiday bond hearings will be held at the Summerville Municipal Court at 200 South Main Street between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
