The 19-year-old tennis player is quite active in the fight for equal pay rights for women, following Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova, and Serena Williams. But recently, apart from the equal pay issue, in a press conference, she highlighted how there is one more concern that kind of stops women’s tennis from growing on a bigger platform.

Gauff said, “Yeah, for me I think the biggest thing in that most sports in the world, people watch the men’s game more than the women’s. I think we continue to bring fans. The problem is also we have to market our women’s sports better, market us better.”
Along with that, she also highlighted how, in the past couple of years, the marketing for women’s sports has increased, therefore the watch-ability and the audiences have also grown to a greater extent. On the other hand, she also dwelled on how she is grateful as a women’s tennis player in terms of equal pay.
Gauff added, “At least on most tournaments, some tournaments on the tour, the Grand Slams obviously, we have equal pay. Hopefully tennis can be the leader of that and fiddle down into other sports, as well.” Not only that, just a few weeks ago, she also shared a possibility that can bring a better future for women’s tennis.

Gauff striving for a better tennis future
With a brighter future for women’s tennis in mind, during her incredible run at the Australian Open, Coco Gauff contemplated how the WTA-ATP merger would potentially provide women’s tennis with a significant boost.
Gauff stated, “I find that when I’m at combined events. I just feel like the energy amongst the crowd is better. For most of the events, it’s equal prize money when they’re combined. Yeah, definitely will help our side of the game.”
