The two trailblazers in their respective sports amass a massive fanbase of their own. Upon his arrival, a curly-haired Rory McIlroy was heralded as the next big thing in golf. A decade and four major championships later, the Northern Irishman stands at a tantalizing net worth of $41.5 million.
On the other hand, 7-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton has imposed himself as one of the best drivers on the circuit. The Mercedes driver commands a huge fanfare wherever he goes and has major sponsorship deals with a multitude of companies. The 37-year-old ranks 17th among the highest-paid athletes in 2022 with earnings up to $65 million.
Adding up, the two Brit athletes combine for an eye-watering total worth of $106.5 million. The collective earnings put the pair higher than any other sportsperson in either of the two’s respective fields.

The total is also higher than most athletes can ever conjure up. As of 2022, only three sportspersons could out-wealth the Brit duo, namely soccer superstars Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, and NBA icon, LeBron James.

Are McIlroy and Hamilton adding to their tallies?
While the pair is on the other side of 30, they aren’t stopping any time soon. McIlroy recently won the CJ Cup, which elevated him to numero uno status in the Overall Golf World Rankings (OWGR). He’s been active in voicing his support for the PGA Tour in the emergence of the Saudi-backed LIV Golf Series.
On the other hand, Hamilton has been a top racer in the F1 industry for the last decade. Away from the track, he splashes with his fashion statements, which are backed by his sponsors, which include Mercedes-Benz, Monster Energy, Puma, Sony, and Tommy Hilfiger, among others.
