Best Tokyo hotels, according to TripAdvisor

Avid travelers know just how crazy it’s been since the start of the pandemic, but many places worldwide are returning to a new normal.
International tourism in Japan resumed last month following years of restrictions due to COVID-19 closures, according to the United States Embassy.
So, now that you’re able to travel to this amazing country, let’s take a look at some of the best new hotels you should stay at and what fun things you can do during your trip, with help from a new list chock full of insights from TripAdvisor.
The Tokyo Edition, Toranomon
If you want to stay in luxury while you’re in Tokyo, then The Tokyo Edition should be at the top of your list. This hotel was created to provide guests a one-of-a-kind experience that combines welcoming design with top-tier service. Located close to Tokyo Tower in Toranomon, The Tokyo Edition is near all sorts of entertainment as nightlife, bars, restaurants and more are within walking distance.
Make sure you check out The Jade Room + Garden Terrace located in the hotel. This upscale dining option is brand new and offers unbeatable city views to go along with high-end food and wine. Rates start at around $700 per night, with some suites eclipsing $1,000.
Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi
As one of the top high-end hotel brands in the world, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to see the Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi make the cut. Other than the luxuries that the hotel offers to guests in general, you’ll also be treated to some of the best food in the city. (Which we’d hope for $700+ per night!)
The hotel houses a pizza joint, multiple cocktail bars, and even a Michelin-starred French restaurant. No matter what your taste buds are begging for, you’ll have no trouble quenching their desires here.
Ace Hotel Kyoto
For anyone traveling to Japan on a slightly tighter budget, staying in Kyoto might be the best idea. While there are some expensive options, of course, you can also check out the Ace Hotel located downtown. Rooms start at around $200 per night, and you’ll be located in the heart of the city.
Nearby, you’ll have access to myriad dining options, craft cocktails, freshly brewed coffee and more to really let your social butterfly wings spread out. This hotel is ranked in the top five of nearly 600 hotels in Kyoto on TripAdvisor, so you likely won’t find better bang for your buck anywhere in the city.
Maana Kyoto
Later this month, Maana Homes is going to open up three new suites in Kyoto that will be the showcase of modernity for the area. These suites are designed to bring together “modern living and ancient wisdom,” so guests will get to experience local culture in a new way.
Of the three new suites being built, there is one option that’s a one bedroom (for two guests) and then a pair of two-bedroom suites made for up to four guests. For the cheapest one, you can expect to pay around $600 per night during the weekend, and slightly lower rates for weeknights.
W Osaka
Last but not least, let’s talk about where you should stay if you’re heading to Osaka. The first W Hotel in all of Japan, the W Osaka should be your go-to place while you’re planning the trip of a lifetime. Coming in at around $400 per night, the W is a bit cheaper than some of the other spots on this list, but that tends to happen when you get outside the city limits of Tokyo!
The W Osaka was designed to blend contemporary ideas with Japanese culture in a playful, luxurious mix. It’s located in Shinsaibashi, which is ripe for the picking when it comes to a bustling nightlife to enjoy.
