New Fogo de Chao restaurant brings Brazilian steak to Bay Street Emeryville

Good news for lovers of endless parades of skewered meats and cruise liner-sized salad bars: There’s a new Fogo de Chão opening in the Bay Area, this time in Emeryville.
The Brazilian steakhouse chain will open on Nov. 6 in the Bay Street Emeryville shopping mall at 5633 Bay Street. It’s the third regional outpost of Fogo de Chão, with others in San Francisco and San Jose. To greet the community, the restaurant has announced that part of its first week of sales will go toward the Alameda County Community Food Bank, which battles food insecurity in the Bay Area.
This Fogo de Chão will have all the expected offerings, from the Full Churrasco Experience with grilled meats and the salad and sides bar to the pricier Indulgent Cuts option with slices of Long Bone Tomahawk and Wagyu Ribeye.
The new space was envisioned in part by the SoCal firm Innovation & Design in Architecture, with an open churrasco grill in the dining room, so guests can watch the gaucho chefs in action. There’s also an outdoor dining patio and a bar area with all-day happy hours. Related Articles Restaurants, Food and Drink | Dunkin’ giving away free donuts on Wednesdays through end of the year

The opening comes right on the heels of another restaurant arriving at Bay Street Emeryville, the Mexican joint Flores, whose San Francisco counterpart has won a Michelin Bib Gourmand award. The shopping mall also has a new Arthur Mac’s Little Snack and is still expecting a Mumu Hot Pot.
