An adventurous cat who traveled over 17 miles by train on a solo trip has now been given her own railcard — for a lifetime of free journeys.
Two-year-old Tilly made headlines after managing to travel all the way from Weybridge in Surrey to London Waterloo station via train.
Her owner, Michael Hardy, 52, then had to drive across the capital to collect her and bring her back home.

Now, South Western Railway – who run the route on which Tilly traveled – have made her her very own smartcard for future adventures on their trains.
This adorable pass supposedly unlocks her unlimited free travel across their network for the rest of her life.

A spokesperson for South Western Railway said: “In case our whiskered wanderer is feline adventurous again, we thought we would issue Tilly with her very own ‘Cat2Go’ smartcard – with free travel across our network for all of her nine lives. She just has to remember to tap in!”
Owner Michael will be meeting with staff at Weybridge station on Wednesday to collect a physical copy of the rail card which will have Tilly’s name on it.
On the cat’s Facebook page, which has now gained almost 6,000 followers, he responded: “That’s made my day.
“South West Rail have made Tilly her own train card so she no longer has to skip the fare.”
