That’s why Manhattanite Clarke Peoples, 22, declined a date from a guy she met online, who invited her to a bar right by his apartment – presumably to trick her into having sex. Even worse, she says the Brooklyn spot he picked had a patio that looked like a “Salvation Army opened up a lounge with the furniture nobody bought in 1984.”
When Peoples posted the twisted tale to TikTok and Twitter, many commenters were actually on the guy’s side, not hers. “It’s no wonder you’re alone, desperate for attention on dating apps,” one person wrote. Our “Post Poppin” host, Asia Grace, says Peoples “played it smart” to avoid a creepy situation. She suggested keeping first dates “in a neutral, safe, middle space.” Whose side are you on?
