On Sunday, December 25, Star Sports released a promo featuring Hardik Pandya for the upcoming white-ball series between India National Cricket Team and Sri Lanka National Cricket Team, which hints that the premier all-rounder will lead the Men In Blue in the T20I series.
Sri Lanka are all set to tour India for a limited-overs series in 2023. The Sri Lanka tour of India 2023 consists of three ODIs and three T20Is. The complete series will be played in January 2023 and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to organise the games across six different venues.

The T20Is will be played on January 3, 5 and 7 in Mumbai, Pune and Rajkot respectively. Meanwhile, the ODIs will be played on January 10, 12, and 15 in Guwahati Kolkata, and Trivandrum respectively.
The outgoing selection committee led by Chetan Sharma have been assigned the task of picking the squads for the forthcoming series against Sri Lanka.

Star Sports’ New Promo Hints Hardik Pandya Will Captain Indian T20I Team vs Sri Lanka
On Sunday, December 25, hours after the conclusion of the two-match Test series between India and Bangladesh, which the KL Rahul-led side won by 2-0, Star Sports released a promo for the white-ball series between India and Sri Lanka.
Notably, the BCCI has not yet announced India’s squad for the series against Sri Lanka and it seems Star Sports made a vital development public before the official announcement.
In a video shared on the official Twitter handle of Star Sports, Hardik Pandya was seen playing the starring role and it concluded with the Gujarat Titans (GT) captain featuring alongside Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka.
Initially, Star Sports released a video on Twitter with the caption mentioning, “Hardik ‘Raj’”. Later the tweet was deleted and a new tweet was posted with “Hardik ‘Raj’” removed.

Earlier, reports came out suggesting that Hardik Pandya will be named as the captain of India for the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka as Rohit Sharma has not yet recovered from the thumb injury he sustained in the second ODI against Bangladesh.
