GM self-driving subsidiary expands robotaxi service in Texas

General Motors (NYSE:GM) subsdiary Cruise will soon offer robotaxi service in both Dallas and Houston, according to an announcement on Wednesday.
A company announcement specified that service in Houston will go live in a matter of days while Dallas may take months to begin offering rides. The two metropolitan areas add to Austin, which was the first city in Texas for Cruise expansion.
“I am excited to announce @Cruise will go live in Houston and Dallas in the next few months!,” Cruise CEO Kyle Vogt tweeted. “Supervised autonomous driving will start in Houston in a few days, with Dallas to follow soon after.”
The GM also operates autonomous taxis in San Francisco, California and Phoenix, Arizona. The company recently announced the availability of 24-hour robotaxi service in San Francisco.
