New teases have been shared by Disney Parks Blog as to what reveals and updates guests can expect ahead of the Disney Parks panel happening this weekend on Saturday, September 9 at Destination D23 at Walt Disney World.
2023 Destination D23
The panel, titled “A Celebration of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow,” will be hosted by Chairman Josh D’Amaro. “Special guests” are also expected to make appearances.
Ahead of the panel, new reveals and updates will be shared on various ongoing projects at Disney Parks around the world.
Zootopia-Themed Land Update
One of those updates coming this week is focused on the Zootopia-themed land coming to Shanghai Disney Resort. This under-construction expansion will mark the first time that “Zootopia” will come to life at a Disney Park outside of character appearances. We got our first look inside the new land earlier this summer.
Grand Reveal of Disney Treasure
Another update coming before the panel this week is the grand virtual reveal of the Disney Treasure, the newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. “Unlocking the Disney Treasure: Adventure Awaits Onboard Disney’s Newest Ship” will be streamed online on Tuesday, September 5 at 11 a.m. ET. The reveal was previously set for for August 30, but was rescheduled due to Hurricane Idalia.
World of Frozen Update
The final reveal Disney fans can expect to see this week is an update on the World of Frozen land at Hong Kong Disneyland, which is set to open up its gates this November. The land will invite guests to “join in on a Summer Snow Day celebration commemorating the day that Anna saved Elsa with an act of true love.” A video of Anna and Elsa in the new land was shared just last month.
For those who can’t make it in person to attend Destination D23 this weekend, the panel will be livestreamed online for everyone to watch at home.
