It is no secret that athletes make a lot of money while being at the top of their respective sports. Venus Williams is one player who has been at the top of her field throughout her career. And she has taken all the advantages that come with it. The 7-time Grand Slam champion has invested in quite a few ventures, and Virgin Voyages is one of those. Recently, she was seen on one of the cruise ships under the Virgin Voyages line, alongside Virgin Group founder Richard Branson.

Branson got on the cruise to encourage the crew and was joined by none other than Venus Williams. Virgin Voyages has reached new heights since August of last year as they raised $550 million in crowdfunding, which helped them expand their fleet. This growth saw additional capital from their existing investors and new external financing.
Williams is one of the many individuals who have invested in Virgin Voyages. She funded the line through Patricof Co., a platform used by several athletes. Branson wrote about his experience on Virgin.com and even said how he had a lot of fun catching up with Williams.

The two talked about the time when he and Maria Sharapova played against Venus and Serena Williams in a doubles match in Wimbledon.
“I’d last seen Venus on board Virgin Voyages, but we got to talk about another time we crossed paths – on Centre Court at Wimbledon. Lucky player that I am, I somehow ended up teaming up with Maria Sharapova in doubles against Venus and Serena for a fun game. I think we came out on top. Venus wasn’t so sure though!“
