The 2022 Cannes Film Festival has excluded Nicole Kidman from the montage celebrating the long career of Tom Cruise.
Nicole Kidman would have been excluded from the celebratory video editing that the Festival of Cannes 2022 has dedicated to the star Tom Cruise. The actress would not appear in any video segments despite her various collaborations with her ex-husband.

Nicole Kidman, who has been married to Tom Cruise for 11 years, was not included in the ten-minute montage that the festival showed to audiences to celebrate Cruise’s career.
According to Variety, the video montage included clips from Days of Thunder, on the set of which Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise first met, along with scenes from All Hearts and “Eyes Wide Shut. The clips used, however, showed Cruise in scenes alone carefully excluding the presence of the ex-wife.
Interestingly, several of Cruise’s other co-stars, including Kirsten Dunst, Renée Zellweger, and Penelope Cruz, with whom he was in a three-year relationship, were all featured in the clips.

Although excluded from the video editing, the name of Nicole Kidman was mentioned when Tom Cruise was asked to comment on the acting in Eyes Wide Shut:
“We worked together to find the tone: Stanley Kubrick, Nic and I”Cruises said.
As we read in our review of Top Gun: Maverick, presented at Cannes as a special event, Tom Cruise is back in the role of the daredevil pilot Maverick 36 years after the release of the cult that has become a real phenomenon.
The Italian release of Top Gun: Maverick is scheduled for May 25th.
