After a three-year absence from combat sports, Scottish sensation Amy Pirnie will make her debut on the world’s largest mixed martial arts stage at ONE Fight Night 24: Brooks vs. Balart on August 2nd. She will face ONE atomweight contender Yu Yau Pui in a Muay Thai fight at the iconic Lumpinee Stadium.
Amy Pirnie, who is riding a 19-fight winning streak, has proven herself as one of the best female strikers on the planet. She has excelled in every challenge presented to her in the past and is now eager to cement her status and pursue the prestigious gold on the global stage of ONE Championship.
In an interview with the South China Morning Post about her return, she said, “Returning onto the ONE stage feels like a dream. It’s going to be a great fight. A great clash of styles. It will be explosive and exciting to the last bell.”

Amy Pirnie reflects on her dark times
Amy Pirnie has faced numerous struggles since childhood, including her mother’s mental health issues, which led to addictions. Despite prioritizing her family throughout her journey in a combat sports career, Pirnie’s priority was always her family. However, the challenges she encountered during the COVID-19 pandemic, including depression and injuries, were unlikely anything she had experienced before.
In an interview with ONE Championship, Amy Pirnie highlighted a dark period in her career when she thought it was over. She further stated, “For quite a long time there were some recurring injuries, and I do suffer with my mental health as well. As I got older and more injured, and having that time over COVID, it really hit me pretty hard trying to find my way back. And the more I trained, the more injured I got. So that really affected me mentally and how I felt about coming back.”
