Every sport has the risk of injuries, and basketball is no stranger to career-altering injuries. In some cases, the player’s road to recovery from the injury often turns out to be an inspiring story. The Los Angeles Clippers star Paul George is currently recovering from an injury he sustained during a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. However, there’s another PG recovery story from 2014 that involves the Clippers star’s undying effort and his strong bond with boxing sensation Floyd Mayweather.
In 2014, George represented the Indiana Pacers, and he played an influential role in a young and energetic team. His game consistently improved and he led the Pacers deep into the postseason on multiple occasions. However, in August 2014, he sustained two fractures in his right leg in a terrifying fall on the court. The star had a long road to recovery. He eventually returned to the hardwood in April 2015, but there’s an inspiring story of friendship ingrained in it.
