Paradise Season 2 Confirms Time Travel Theories With Shocking Revelation

Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Paradise season 2, episode 6!Paradise season 2 has confirmed the show’s time travel theories, delivering a shocking revelation about one of its central characters. The core characters in Paradise have been spread across the map for season 2, from Xavier seeking out Teri in Atlanta to Sinatra trying to reposition her power in the Colorado bunker. Yet now, the show also appears to be introducing time travel.
It began with Xavier having flash-forwards of Link, who he’s never met, and later continued with Henry Miller implying he knew Billy was going to kill him in episode 3. But now, Paradise season 2 has confirmed time travel is happening in the show. It all has to do with one character whose past was explored in season 2, episode 6.
Jane’s Backstory Confirms Paradise Season 2 Time Travel Theories
Paradise season 2, episode 6 begins with a flashback to 1997, where a tech worker named Don is spammed with messages about a killer being born on June 6, 1997, at 12:01 a.m. He’s informed that the only way to stop her is to deliver a message. While the message is unclear, the episode quickly reveals who the message is for.
The message Don was sent is meant for Jane, a member of the Secret Service who works for Sinatra. It’s unclear what the message is, however, as, when Don frantically tried to deliver it to Jane’s mother, he was stopped and pulled away by hospital security. This ultimately led to her mother raising her in a neglectful, abusive manner.
Although it’s unclear what the message is, season 2, episode 6 made it clear that stopping Jane is a core part of whatever happens moving forward. Paradise season 1 ended with her shooting Sinatra, but whispering she needed her alive, emphasizing her secret but important role in whatever happens in the upcoming episodes.
Why Jane Is Important For Paradise’s Future
Flashbacks in season 2, episode 6 confirmed that Jane is a difficult person to trust. She hears voices in her head, particularly that of her imaginary friend, Climby, who tells her to act out violently. This has continued into her adulthood, with her talking to herself in a mirror and believing options where people die are the best road to take.
But despite the voices in her head, she’s also been trained to silence them thanks to a mentor she had in the CIA. Still, this hasn’t quelled her need to kill. When Sinatra confronts her about having been shot, she confesses she needs Sinatra alive because she needs to kill. Without her, she wouldn’t have direction for her violence.
While this makes Jane both formidable and dangerous, Don’s attempt at stopping her seems like it will loop back to the present day at some point. It’s unclear what she needs to be told in order to be stopped, but the flashback means it will likely be a major plot point in season 2’s final episodes.
How Jane Connects To Paradise’s Other Time Travel Elements
While Don’s message for Jane confirms time travel in Paradise, her connection to other time travel elements is unclear. The show hasn’t confirmed anything that would tie her with Xavier’s visions of Link. However, Sinatra sent her outside for negotiations, leading to her first interaction with Link, adding a potential layer to her time travel storyline.
In addition, everyone involved in time travel appears to have something unique happening to them. Link keeps getting migraine symptoms, while Xavier keeps having visions of Link that haven’t happened yet. For Jane, her unique attribute is the voices in her head. Depending on their importance, this could be her connection to Paradise’s time travel story.
With only two episodes left before Paradise season 2 ends, it seems inevitable that Jane will be tied into the wider time travel concept the show is exploring. Although it’s unclear if the phrase to stop her will be uttered at some point, it seems like the show will circle back around to her time travel connection as season 2 nears its conclusion.
