Iconic Concorde soars once more, completing scenic Hudson River journey

The Concorde, a game-changer in aviation and the pioneer of supersonic passenger travel, completed a unique journey floating across New York’s Hudson River.
After supersonic flights ceased in 2003, the decommissioned British Airways aircraft—one of the 20 ever to be in service—was kept in storage at the Intrepid Museum in Manhattan until being removed in August for restoration.
The one at the museum, Concorde Alpha Delta G-BOAD, is an aircraft that completed the fastest-ever transatlantic flight in a mere 2 hours, 52 minutes, and 59 seconds on February 7, 1996.
