Yet another cruise line is canceling stops to this Caribbean country for safety reasons

The popular cruise line Celebrity Cruises announced recently it is stopping all visits to Haiti for the rest of 2025 and all of 2026.
Travel + Leisure reported that the company has updated 11 itineraries that will now avoid visiting Labadee, Haiti, on the northern coast of the country.
Instead, the company’s cruise liners will go to Turks and Caicos, the Grand Cayman or Cozumel in Mexico.
The decision mainly affects trips on the Celebrity Apex and the Celebrity Beyond ships.
“To provide you with a better experience, we have made the decision to cancel our visit to Labadee, Haiti,” the cruise line said in an updated itinerary for a February 2026 trip.
A full listing of itinerary updates can be found on Celebrity’s website.
Labadee is a private resort owned by Royal Caribbean and is only reachable by ship. Celebrity is owned by the Royal Caribbean Group, which also owns the Royal Caribbean line.
In July, the U.S. Department of State reissued its most severe travel advisory for Haiti, warning all Americans not to travel to the Caribbean country for any reason, due to kidnapping, crime, terrorist activity, civil unrest, and limited health care.
“Haiti has been under a State of Emergency since March 2024. Crimes involving firearms are common in Haiti,” the advisory said. “They include robbery, carjackings, sexual assault, and kidnappings for ransom. Do not travel to Haiti for any reason.”
