It figures to hold as a top-10 showdown when Indiana football plays its next game, and the Hoosiers now know what time they’ll play.
No. 9 Indiana (5-0, 2-0 Big Ten) is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff after its idle week, visiting No. 2 Oregon on Oct. 11. The game will air on CBS. The league office announced kickoff times and broadcast information Monday. The Ducks (5-0, 2-0) are coming off a 30-24 overtime win at Penn State and also have a bye week.
IU is coming off a 20-15 win at Iowa, one that looked like it could turn out to be a loss. Instead the Hoosiers capitalized on a missed field goal and ran the clock out with a safety to secure back-to-back 5-0 starts. It also announced their candidacy for the College Football Playoff as a repeat entrant.

It will be one of two tough road tests remaining on IU’s schedule. The Hoosiers are also scheduled to visit Penn State later this season. A win in either game, provided they don’t stumble elsewhere, could all but secure IU’s berth as an at-large CFP team. But it also goes into Big Ten championship consideration by creating a tiebreaker advantage over either opponent if it comes down to head-to-head record.
Though the Hoosiers and Ducks have a bye week to prepare, it should maintain its status as a top-10 showdown.
