The Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa Patriots (5-2, 2-2) travel to Warrior Stadium in Alabaster to face the region-leading Thompson Warriors (5-2, 4-0) in a Class 7A Region 3 matchup Friday night.
The Patriots are coming off a 63-21 victory over Tuscaloosa County last week in which junior quarterback Jordan Shambley delivered three touchdown passes. Sophomore playmaker Jacobi Harris accounted for three touchdowns (two rushing, one receiving) and senior receiver Kahden Smith hauled in two touchdown receptions in the win.
Thompson continues its undefeated region campaign following a solid 34-12 win at Hewitt-Trussville, powered by junior quarterback Trent Seaborn’s 300-yard passing display. Seaborn ran for a touchdown and connected with seniors Trey Knight and Pryce Lewis on scoring strikes.
The Warriors defeated the Patriots, 45-20, in last year’s meeting in Tuscaloosa.
Opening kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT on Friday, October 10 with a live TV broadcast on NFHS Network.
