Everything comes at a price. Isn’t it? Sha’Carri Richardson has realized it lately. At 24, she has two Olympic medals, World Championships titles, and countless sponsorships. Most of all, she has the limelight, just like an enormous star from the realm of any other sports. And just like that, she also had to pay the price to achieve it. The outspoken athlete has had her own struggle to catch up with the world. But the relentless criticism of her personal life made the situation far more complicated. It was like facing thousands of arrows coming from different directions.
Take Sha’Carri Richardson’s journey from the Tokyo Olympics to the Paris one. In her interview with Essence, the Dallas native reminisced over the moments that once left her bludgeoned. She recalled it, narrating, “Those moments were scary, because I’m like, If I can’t be me, I can’t even give you all what you respect and love me for. I wasn’t happy when I wasn’t being myself.”
