Mickey and Minnie will debut new outfits this summer at Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, a new Disney Cruise Line private destination.
Mickey & Minnie Lookout Cay Outfits
The outfits are designed by Bahamian fashion designer Theodore Elyett. They are inspired by the bright and colorful spirit of Junkanoo, the signature festival of the Bahamas held in late December every year. Disney released concept art of the costumes. Mickey wears a green and orange button-up with shell-patterned shorts. Minnie wears an off-the-shoulder green dress with brightly-colored polka dots and a green bow.
“The beauty of Mickey and Minnie’s looks are that they are literally ‘Junkanoo Fun in the Sun,’” Elyett said. “When you talk about the print, pattern, color, texture of Junkanoo, they’ve got that.”
Elyett will also design new looks for Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, Chip, and Dale.
